Porsche produced the GT3 RS 4.0 as nothing less than an all-out performance machine. It has the largest displacement engine ever installed in a factory-stock 911. The 4.0-liter version of Porsche’s Mezger race-designed flat six is equipped with forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, and the crankshaft out of the GT3 RSR racer.

With flared fenders to accommodate the wide rear track, a massive rear wing, and gray racing stripes, the RS 4.0 has a commanding stance. It comes only in Carrera White, with red and gray accents and white center-locking wheels. The aggressive wide-body appearance and big rear wing are deliberately reminiscent of the GT3 RSR race car.

With weight reduction being paramount, Porsche equipped the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 with carbon-fiber bucket seats, front fenders and luggage compartment lid as well as lightweight carpet, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 5.99 lbs./hp. The standard roll cage was omitted from U.S. cars unless specially ordered, and a blend of Alcantara and leather helps spruce up the stripped-down interior.

The 2011 911 GT3 RS 4.0 was the last of the 997 series, limited to just 600 units worldwide. A supercar that delivers a pure and addictive driving experience, it was the culmination of the rapid evolution of the 997 series.
